What Financial Literacy Means to Me
Since this is April, I challenge you to think about what financial literacy means to you or the impact it’s had on your life.
Thinking about my own experiences have led me to realize the lack of financial education in schools. I really believe this is a major gap in our education system. I started thinking about the different things about personal finance I wished I’d learned earlier. I came up with six topics that I think every student should learn before graduating. You can read the post here.
I’m Donating to Junior Achievement
During the month of April, I’ll be donating 50 cents for each new Facebook like or email subscriber, up to 500 new people. So, like my page and subscribe and that would be a $1 donation. Share this post with your friends and have them like and subscribe as well. I’d love to donate the full $250.
The money will be donated to Junior Achievement, which is an organization focused on helping young people gain the financial knowledge they need to succeed. If you’d like to donate to Junior Achievement directly, you can do so here.
Challenge – What’s Your Story
I’d love to hear your take on financial literacy.
What’s something about finance you wish you knew sooner?
What’s your biggest financial mistake and how did you bounce back?
How are you teaching your kids about finance?
Or anything else you can think of. Let me know in the comments or if you’ve written a post about it, let me know and I’ll add a link to this post.
Let’s turn this post into a roundup of the best posts on personal finance and help spread the word about financial literacy.
